DCI - Mura e Porte del Borgo Fortificato di Camporosso

Saturday 2nd December I worked for DCI award a new reference: IM159 Mura e Porte del Borgo Fortificato di Camporosso.
Camporosso in the Middleage was surrounded by a wall as described from P. Costa Calcagno in "Castelli della Liguria"; there were three doors: one in North direction, one in South and one in West, still existing, called Porta Vallone.
The old burg is well preserved and lie in the wide Nervia valley. It is located in a flat area in a situation quite different from other villages that are on top of a hill following an anular model. They had, already in the XIV century, a small harbour at mouth of Nervia river that was used to export the wine produced around it.
Camporosso belong to the Guelfa Ventimiglia and they had to soffer high damage due to the geographic position close to the Ghibellina Dolceacqua and therefore the need to protect them with a wall.

I worked mainly in 40 m. as the propagation in 20 m. was really poor (I made in this band few QSO's in spite of the incitations of Roberto IK1DFH and Ovidio I1SCL who helped me sending several spots on the cluster, thanks to both of them.)
I have used a vertical antenna 6 m. high and during mounting operations I faced a problem: I broken one arm of the capacitive hat, I thought that having 3 on 4. I should not have any problem; while missing one arm resonance moved from 7.050 to 7.450 Khz with a ROS close to 5.
AT-180 tuner was working at its limits and I had to make manual tuning several times.
Fortunately I have reached 114 QSO's.

The day was warm and the place really nice, I was surrounded from olive trees and watched from 2 dogs coming out from a house.

High participation from local OM with low signals, as usual, while the skip with Lombardia was quite good.
I worked also a reference for DAI Award: LG0062 Chiesa di S. Pietro al Cimitero.
It is a small church, builded during XI century, in romanic style; today is inside the Camporosso Cemetery but originally growth on an old roman village.
There is a very nice steeple and inside there are some frescos. It was made using stones coming from Turbia (France).

Thanks to everybody calling me and to DCI Staff for the constant support on my research for new references.

See you from the next "new one".
